The costs of the SOS campaign including appearing at the Inquiry are covered by monies raised at our various fund raising events and also by the many generous donations received, We would like to say a big Thank You to everyone who has donated recently or in the past. All funds are accounted for and subject to audit and presented at our AGM meeting in February each year.
We have over 2,300 members of SOS and we thank all those who have engaged with us to oppose the plans to build 332 houses in our village. This saga has gone on for a very long time and we are all weary but we are now approaching the final hurdle so please maintain your interest and determination. Please note that the 190 houses in Wellwick Pit remain subject to a legal agreement between Tendring and the applicants. Although the Planning Committee recommended acceptance in January 2013, no final agreement has yet been reached. That application could still fail!
Please help if you can.
Our costs of appearing at the Inquiry are extremely modest when compared to those of the high powered legal teams engaged by the main participants. We do still need to raise an amount to reach our target so any further donations, large or small, would be welcomed and should be addressed to the SOS Treasurer at No 1, The Bury, St Osyth, CO16 8NY. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Save Our St Osyth’ or you can donate directly into the SOS bank account: Account Name: Save Our St Osyth. Sort Code: 20-21-73. Ac. No. 63138690.
All details concerning contributions will remain confidential to the SOS Treasurer alone.
Race Night: We are planning another Race Night on Friday 17th April. Tickets will be available from mid March and will cost just £3 a head. Because of increasing costs, we shall NOT be offering food this year – please bring your own. Light refreshments will be available.
