Gravel work halted to SAVE Ratty

Published in

Work has been halted at a gravel pit in St Osyth Priory grounds because they did not have planning permission (Gazette Monday 3rd May.). Although the owners claim that they were not told they needed it by the previous owners the work has been stopped until they re-apply. Given that the area within the Priory grounds is the home of much wildlife it beggars belief why any work is carried out there at all that would disturb the natural habitat of wildlife.
It is time that those who preach the protection of wildlife did their job more thoroughly and immediately it is brought to their attention.
